Aurora Stained Glass & Supplies
At Aurora Stained Glass and Supplies we carry the largest selection of art glass, supplies and equipment in the Yukon as well as gifts for the glass crafter and the glass admirer.
We currently offer courses in fusing and slumping, stained glass and torchwork beads. Classes are kept small to ensure individual attention. Check out our Classes page for what is currently being offered.
In addition to supplies and equipment for the glass crafts person, we have gifts for the glass lover. Torchwork bead jewelry, slump glass pieces, fused pendants and wind chimes designed and crafted by Carmen Komish.
Our focus is on customer service. If you don't see it in our store, we'll do our best to get it for you.
August News
I had a lovely ten days away at my annual Glass Retailers conference in Millville, New Jersey at Wheaton Arts (situated between Philadelphia and Atlantic City).
There were about 50 attendees, and we stayed in a hotel right on site. The grounds were gorgeous and our classes were held in classrooms in one of the Victorian style buildings. The glass gallery and glass store were amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't get time to see the glass museum there.
We were honoured with meeting Paul Stankard and he graciously gave us a tour of his home and studio. Paul is a world renowned glass artist, if interested check out www.paulstankard.com. I learned lots and can't wait to practice making projects for new workshops this fall and winter. For pictures of Wheaton Arts click on Ragsfest 2008. I got to walk by those beautiful buildings everyday.
I got to top off my US trip with a weekend at Anderson Lake, near Whistler. We had to take the round about way due to the rockslide, but it was more scenic. The weather was great and I got to spend time with my cousins.
I'm only having one workshop this month as I have to get more inventory together for the Fireweed Market and other sales. Watch for upcoming classes in the fall.
